What is Lent and why is it celebrated?

Lent. … Beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, Christians replicate Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days.

Lent is often marked by fasting, both from food and festivities.

At St. Michael we will begin this repentant season with a reflection service at 1:00 PM (non-communion) and at 7:00 PM (with communion).

In the weeks following, there will continue to be services at 7:00 PM on March 4, 11, 18, 25 and April 1.

Each of these weeks, the various boards and ministry teams of the church will offer a  family meal between 5-6:30 PM in Allan Hall. Your presences is encouraged!
